For Ernest Hemingway, “Paris est une fête” (A Moveable Feast), here Paris is a walk on the banks of the Seine immortalized in this spectacular painting which is presented to you like a cinemascope panorama!
No less than 3.84 feet long and 4.92 feet high, it is a unique work created by Michel de Gallard in 1962.
An artist recognized at the Salon de la Jeune Peinture - la Nouvelle Ecole de Paris - from the 1940s to the 1960s, Michel de Gallard was represented by the Galerie Maurice Garnier alongside Bernard Buffet before exhibiting exclusively at the Galerie de la Presidence from 1971.
L'Institut, an emblematic building in the heart of Paris, you are in front of the Institut de France, an elegant classical-style building housing the five most prestigious academies: theAcadémie française, the Académie des inscriptions et belles-lettres, the Académie des sciences, the Académie des beaux-arts and the Académie des sciences morales et politiques.
Like a stroll at the painter’s side, you walk along the Seine, admiring the dome which stands out in the light that is so typical and the artist’s signature. Then comes the moment to cross the Pont des Arts, linking the two banks of Paris in the perspective of the Quai Conti. This is the moment to allow your gaze to wander, guided by Michel de Gallard, and enjoy the cultural and artistic atmosphere that reigns in Paris.
