BOUDIN & JONGKIND, in the eye of Galerie de la Présidence: SHOW at the gallery
At a time when the press, the public and collectors are celebrating the exhibition event 2025 at the Musée Marmottan Monet, dedicated to the passion of an immense connoisseur for Eugène Boudin, we are particularly pleased to present our own discoveries.
Luminous oils on canvas, endearing and delicate watercolors, each of these selected works takes us on a journey alongside Eugène Boudin, from his beloved Normandy to the azure shores of Villefranche-sur-Mer, before returning to the Washers on the banks of the Touques.
Paul Durand-Ruel played an important role during the artist's life, and continued to acquire his oil paintings (over 600) after the artist's death. Thanks to Durand-Ruel, many of Boudin's paintings are also to be found in American and English collections.
What a journey, what a joy to find ourselves once again in the company of the precursor of Impressionism "to whom I owe everything" as Claude Monet liked to say.
But it's also an opportunity to celebrate a deep friendship, one that Boudin and Jongkind forged to open a new path, no less than that of Impressionism!
We hope you enjoy this private selection!
