Maurice ESTÈVE 1904-2001
With frame:
27 x 36 cm – 10.62 x 14.17 in.
In 1952, Maurice Estève was fully established in the path of Lyrical Abstraction and widely recognized for his talents as a colorist.
With bold flat areas of color and precise chromatic juxtapositions, Estève demonstrated his mastery of pictorial rhythm, where each form contributes to a visual composition, alternating between dense areas and bursts of color. Color organizes space and creates depth.
Composition of 1952 appears to us as a mosaic in which each fragment contributes to the overall architecture and the resulting lyrical effect.
