A pioneering artist of abstraction, Sonia Delaunay is a major figure in modern art. She adopted a language in which color and rhythm play a central role. The artist developed a total art form that broke down the boundaries between the arts and everyday life.
Circles, arcs and flat areas of color are arranged in vibrant patterns that create movement within the pictorial surface. For Sonia Delaunay, painting was a way of orchestrating light and energy, transforming the work into a celebration of color.

For us, exhibiting Sonia Delaunay's gouaches and oil is also a way of celebrating the female artist whose modernity marked the 20th century, placing her at the forefront of the great avant-garde movements.
The power of her polychromatic language resonates fully with our era and speaks to all generations.
